Do you wanna join us to become a firefighter?

If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, and looking for new challenges? Now there is an event in Norfolk that welcomes you to join, so that you can wear uniforms, experience the work of firefighters, and feel the glory of this profession.

Norfolk fire and Rescue service were the first service in the UK to set up the fire cadet scheme in 1984, giving the young people the special activities to enhance an awareness of safety and basic skills. They have 5 well established fire cadet units around the county in Wymondham, Diss and Hunstanton.

Once you join the Norfolk Firefighters, during the course of the event, you will attend the local fire drill’s weekly exercise nights, learn new skills and meet new people, and you will work like a real firefighter. Outdoor activities, camping and social travel will also take place during the project.

Some of the young people who have participated in the project have been evaluated as a very meaningful project for them. They can learn how to work with others. In fact, firefighters also play a role in the fire safety education of Norfolk residents.

For more information on the scheme and how to become a cadet email Lynda.Durrant@fire.norfolk.gov.uk  or visit the Norfolk Fire and Rescue website.

The Norfolk Fire cadets are looking for you.
